Gel Announce 'Persona' EP Released Via Blue Grape Music

Jersey standouts Gel have quickly become one of the most discussed, universally praised bands among the circles of metallic hardcore. The band's 2023 full length debut, Only Constant, was consistently included among the year's best ans landed them on the collective radar of heavy music. Hailed for its articulate brand of aggression, the band flexed a musical maturity well beyond their years.

Now the band have announced they have found an ally in Blue Grape Music, home to progressive acts like Code Orange and Spiritual Cramp. Penning a deal with the label, Gel will release a six-song EP later this summer titled, Persona

Bolstered by the production and engineering of Jon Markson, the collection of tracks underscores the band's well-honed hostility, anchored by the commanding spit of vocalist Sami Kaiser.

Speaking of the new chapter for the band, Kaiser reiterated how the new music still keeps the band's signature, but allows room for growth and expansion. “We really wanted to fill out the songs more and make them more nuanced. It’s a step forward, it’s different, it’s catchy, but it still really sounds like us.”

To properly introduce the forthcoming release, the band teamed with director Eric Richter (Knocked Loose /Jesus Piece) for the first glimpse with the powerful single, "Mirage".

Along with the August 16th release, Gel will continue to pound the pavement with a touring slate that is non-stop. Set to perform at this weekend's Sick New World Festival, the band also have dates with the likes of Fiddlehead, Militarie Gun and Have Heart. See the current list of confirmed dates below.
